Where and How to Vote

Saturday, October 14 is voting day!

To vote in the Council and School Board by-election, you must: 

  • Be 18 years of age or older on general voting day
  • Be a Canadian citizen 
  • Have lived in BC for at least 6 months immediately before voting day 
  • Have lived in Vancouver for at least 30 days immediately before voting day (or have owned real property registered in your name in Vancouver for at least 30 days immediately before voting day)

 

Note: Residents of the University Endowment Lands may vote in the School Board by-election, but not the Council by-election.

Check if you're registered to vote, learn how to register if you're not already on the voters list, and see what forms of ID are acceptable

Advance voting will take place on October 4th and 10th, between 8am and 8pm, at Vancouver City Hall only.

On October 14th, you may vote at any of the 50 voting places located throughout the city.
